Book One of the Decodable Pip Series™ introduces the letter–sound correspondences S, A, T, P, I, N using fully decodable text aligned with the Science of Reading. Letter-sound mastery is prioritized prior to blending, supporting early phonological awareness and reducing cognitive load for beginning readers. Text is carefully controlled to ensure students read only words composed of previously taught sounds, allowing for accurate decoding without reliance on memorization or guessing strategies.
